Regional Operations Manager

Position: Regional Operations Manager

Type of Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Business Overview:

Dental Care Ireland is a network of 13 local, family focused dental practices across the country. A strong management team has been assembled and our aim is to continue to acquire existing high-quality dental practices in the months and years ahead; ultimately becoming Ireland’s leading dental group with a real focus on high quality dentistry.

Dental Care Ireland operates a central Head Office in Clontarf, Dublin 3 to support its practices and is seeking to recruit an additional Regional Operations Manager to support the Company’s growth plans in 2019 and beyond. The Regional Operations Manager will have responsibility for and oversee the smooth running of a certain number of practices within the group. Dental Care Ireland offers a supportive, open, flexible working environment with a strong focus on patients and staff.

Job Description:

The Regional Operations Manager will report to the Head of Operations to ensure the smooth running of a number of Dental Care Ireland practices on a daily basis. This role would also involve liaising closely with the accounts and marketing teams along with our external agencies and suppliers. The Regional Operations Manager will oversee Practice Managers to resolve day to day issues within the practices including management of HR, facilities and revenue & cost management. The Operations Manager will also work closely with the Head of Operations in the development and implementation of company-wide improvement projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsibility for a certain number of practices within the group
  • Overseeing Practice Managers in these practices
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of DCI standardised policies and procedures
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of systems and processes within our practices in relation to: customer service, clinical compliance, HR and practice finance/budgeting
  • Change management and integration of new practices into the group
  • Training and mentoring practice staff in relation to the above systems and processes
  • Supporting clinical staff to ensure a high standard of patient care
  • Implementing initiatives which will have a positive impact on either revenues or costs
  • Complaint management
  • Budgeting and managing practice finances
  • Practice software optimisation & support

Desirable Traits:

We are looking for an ambitious and motivated self-starter. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and will maintain a strong patient focus, with an ability to instill this quality within all practices in the group.

Additionally, as the organisation has an ambitious growth plan, the successful candidate will be willing to grow with the company by showing strong levels of initiative, creativity and flexibility. Candidates with one or more of the following skills and areas of interest will have an advantage:

  • Practice Management
  • Dental Nursing
  • Customer Service
  • Human Resources and People Management
  • Change Management
  • Financial or Business Acumen
  • Knowledge of Exact Dental Software

Necessary Skills/Experience:

This role would be suited to either a Practice Manager/Dental Nurse OR a candidate who is already employed in a similar role in a comparable industry (i.e. Medical/GP/Pharmacy). This will be a demanding, full-time role based in our Dublin office, but candidates should be flexible and willing to travel within Ireland on a regular basis (approx 2 days per week out of the office in practices). A full driving licence and own transport is required.

Training will be provided, however those with dental experience are preferred. We are particularly interested in candidates from either a practice management or dental nursing background who are looking to move up in their careers, and who will bring new, innovative ideas stemming from their past experience implementing systems and processes within a dental or medical environment. Existing operations/healthcare managers with a strong focus on people management, training and development would also be well suited to this role.
