While across the Dental Care Ireland group, we provide traditional braces, as well as Invisalign, our latest addition is the introduction of Spark Aligners to our Swords, Co. Dublin and Greystones, Co. Wicklow practices.

Spark Aligners are designed to provide effective orthodontic treatment while seamlessly blending into your life – not interrupting it! They are a popular alternative to traditional braces because they are virtually invisible and can be easily removed for eating or drinking, meaning you won’t face dietary restrictions as you would with metal braces.

What are Spark Clear Aligners?

Spark Aligners are clear, virtually invisible aligners that gradually straighten your teeth overtime. Spark Aligners are ideal if you’re seeking orthodontic treatment, but don’t want to go down the traditional braces route. Whether this is for comfort, lifestyle or aesthetics, Spark Aligners are an amazing alternative to traditional braces.

What are Spark Aligners designed to treat?

Spark Aligners are designed to treat a variety of teeth-straightening cases, including crowding, spacing, open bite, underbite, overbite, crossbite, and more. They are custom-made to fit your teeth and gradually shift them into the desired position.

Where can I get Spark Clear Aligners?

They are available in the following Dental Care Ireland practices:

How much does Spark Clear Aligners Cost?

As Dr Bianca tailors treatments for each patient, the cost of Spark Aligners can vary from person to person. Find a general guide to orthodontic fees you can find them here:

How often do Spark patients receive a new set of aligners?

Patients usually receive a new set of aligners every one to two weeks as part of their personalised treatment plan. New aligner sets ensure a proper fit for optimal tooth movement as teeth move into their new desired locations.

How long do I wear the Spark Aligners?

Dr Bianca will be able to advise you on this as it will depend on the severity of your case. In general, patients should wear their Spark aligners 22 hours a day. Ideally, patients would only take out the aligners to eat, drink, or brush their teeth.

How long does it take to get Spark Clear Aligners fitted?

Once you book your consultation with Dr Bianca, she will speak to you about the next steps. Should you require no other additional dental treatment ahead of starting your Spark journey, typically you will need to book back in for a ‘records appointment’. At this appointment, impressions of your teeth will be taken along with photographs. If you attend our Greystones practice, a 3D scan is taken of your teeth using our incredible iTero Scanner which is used to create your aligners. These will then be sent to the lab to create your bespoke aligners.

Do Spark Clear Aligners hurt?

No, you shouldn’t experience pain during Spark Aligner treatment. However, you may experience slight pressure or discomfort each time you get a new aligner, as the pressure is designed to shift your teeth into the desired position over time. However, there is no need to worry, as this is completely normal!

What’s the difference between Spark Clear Aligners and normal braces?

The aligners are almost invisible, meaning people feel more comfortable wearing them. However, in many cases, traditional ceramic or metal braces are still used.

Spark consultations are currently available at Dental Care Ireland in Swords and Greystones.
