Invisalign Go is an alternative to traditional braces and are designed to help guide teeth into their proper position. Similar to braces, Invisalign Go uses a gradual force to control tooth movement, but without metal wires or brackets. Unlike traditional braces Invisalign Go aligners are very discrete and cannot be seen when worn.
What is Orthodontics?
Orthodontics is a specialty of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis, prevention and correction of mal-positioned teeth and jaws. Abnormal alignment of the teeth and jaws is common. People may have orthodontics for both aesthetic and functional reasons.
Dr Collins and Dr Ford, as general dentists, can carry out non-complex orthodontic treatment with the use of the Invisalign technology. If a case is complex, Dr Collins or Dr Ford would then refer you to a specialist orthodontist.
What’s the process?
- Following your initial exam with Dr Collins or Dr Ford, we will need to gather some records. These include photos, inside the mouth and outside the mouth, an OPG X-Ray and a
3- d scan of your teeth using our 3Shape 3D Scanner. - When we have all your records gathered, we will then send this off to be reviewed and we will then get a treatment plan. This plan will tell us how many aligners you need, how long your treatment will be, and the cost of treatment and it will show us the end result. Your dentist will bring you in to review this treatment plan. If you are happy with the proposed plan we will ask you for a deposit of €1,000.00. We can then order your aligners.
- It will take 2-3 weeks for your aligners to be made and shipped to us. At your next appointment we will fit your aligners. This will involve the attachment of very small tooth coloured ‘attachments’ onto your teeth. These ‘attachments’ help to hold the aligners on your teeth and to assist the aligners in moving the teeth. These attachments will be removed at the end of your treatment. They do not harm or require the removal of any of your own natural tooth.
- Once you have your aligners fitted, your dentist will bring you back one week later to check how you are doing with the 1st aligners. If happy with your progress we will then give you a few (3-4) aligners. You will wear each aligner for one-two weeks.
- At the end of your treatment you will require life-long retention with the use of a bonded and or night time retainer. Our teeth move all throughout our lives. If we don’t use a retainer our teeth will want to move back to their original position.
Payment Plan
We are happy to offer patients and interest free payment plan, this would be begin the day you have your aligners fitted. You can pay this at the desk when you come in for your appointments, by card over the phone, by EFT or by standing order. See full fees information online.
We are happy to offer a 5% discount for patients who would like to pay the full fee in total.
