Dr Colm Traynor Ba BDents Sc, MFDS RCSI graduated with honours from Trinity College and has gained experience working in Louth, Dublin and Australia before joining the practice.

Colm is particularly interested in the provision of treatment for nervous patients in a sympathetic and relaxed environment. Maximum care with minimum trauma.

A graduate of Riga Stradins University in Latvia, Dr Timofejeva brings a wealth of experience to the practice. She has previously trained and worked as a dentist in both Latvia and Ireland, having lived and worked in Carlow for the last 13 years.

Aditya is an experienced and skilful dentist from India. He has worked in Ireland and the UK for over 15 years in Oral Surgery. He enjoys general dental practice but his main area of interest is in Oral Surgery and Dental Implants. His interest in surgery and dental implants led him to do courses in Switzerland and Germany for Implant Dentistry.

Dental Implants are a modern way to replace teeth which have been removed/lost for various reasons like decay, trauma, patients wearing dentures etc. The success rate of Dental Implants is 90% over 25 to 30 years.

Aditya is continually involved in professional development by attending seminars and conferences. He is a calm and kind dentist with a good sense of humour. His hobbies involve hiking, surfing and travelling.

Dr Rabie Elbalasy is a highly experienced dentist who has been treating patients for almost seventeen years. Rabie qualified as a dentist in 2004 and worked for seven years in public and private hospitals in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Rabie went on to become a registrar in Saudi Arabia, heading up hospital departments of oral and maxillofacial surgery for over five years.

Before coming to Ireland, Rabie qualified with a Diploma of Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery, Glasgow and he also qualified for Membership of the Faculty of Dentistry, Ireland.

Dr Elbalasy has extensive experience in both cosmetic dentistry as well as routine dentistry. Rabie has maintained his keen interest in oral surgery and dental implantology over the past number of years.

Moreover, he has trained at various institutes to acquire new skills that enable him to provide dental implants to his patients including bone grafting and he is also experienced in treating patients with TMD (jaw pain) using Botox injections.

Currently, he is studying for his master's degree in implant dentistry at Aston University. Dr Rabie is a member of several dental associations and the Irish Dental Association.

In his free time he enjoys reading and spending time with his family.

After a dental visit when he was a child, Dr Pavly Hanna grew a keen interest and desire to become a dentist. The combination of health care, practical skill and patient connection is a perfect fit for him.

Dr Pavly attended dental school in Poland and was awarded with a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree in 2019. Following his graduation, Dr Pavly spent several months working alongside various dentists in the UK as well as in his home country, Canada. This allowed him to broaden his experience and knowledge of dentistry in a practical setting.

Shortly after, he moved to Ireland and spent 2 years performing general dentistry at a busy private practice in Carlow, where he developed a special interest in restorative and cosmetic
dentistry as well as treating nervous patients.

Dr Pavly takes pride in providing the greatest standard of dental care to ensure that each dental visit is as smile-filled and comfortable as possible.

In his spare time away from the dental chair, Dr Pavly enjoys travelling, photography, listening to music, playing basketball and simply hanging out with family and friends

Dr Andrew Khoury graduated in 2020 from the Faculty of Dentistry in Valencia, Spain. In May 2021 he moved to live and work in Wexford. Andrew's interest in orthodontics allows him to treat older teenagers and adults with Invisalign and strives to one day become an orthodontist. Andrew believes that he can make a difference in patients’ lives by offering the patient opportunity to be active in their treatment decision process, educating them as to how they can maintain a healthy smile for life. Andrew has great respect for his profession and spends countless hours studying, taking continuing education courses and applying the advances of dentistry. He strives for perfection in all he does. Andrew offers attractive treatment plans for Invisalign that include free Essix retainers and whitening kit at the end of treatment


Dr Cormac Cullinane is an endodontist in our Dental Care Ireland Carlow practice

Dr Cormac Cullinane BDS NUI MSc (ULond) graduated from UCC in 1995, following which he worked in general dental practice for a number of years. In 2009, he was awarded an MSc in Endodontics with distinction from the Eastman Dental Institute, London and was the recipient of the Dentsply Maillefer Endodontology graduate prize for the highest clinical and academic achievement. Following this, he has limited his practice to Endodontics.

He regularly runs hands on Endodontic/ root canal treatment courses and has presented at Irish Dental Association and Irish Endodontic Society meetings.

In addition, he is a visiting lecturer on the MSc Endodontic programme in University of Central Lancashire and a lecturer, examiner and member of the Programme Committee for the Postgraduate Diploma in Endodontic Practice at the Eastman Dental Institute. Dr Cullinane joined the Northumberland Dental team in 2015, where as an endodontist he provides root canal treatments and related services.

Dr Angus Burns, B. Dent Sc., MFD (RCSI), D. Ch. Dent., M. Orth. (RSCEd) – Specialist in Orthodontics

Angus graduated from Trinity College Dublin with an honours degree in Dental Science in 2004. He was awarded his RCSI membership in 2006 and subsequently returned to the Dublin Dental Hospital to complete his three year full time specialist training in Orthodontics.

On completion of his specialist training Angus was awarded his clinical doctorate from Trinity and his M. Orth. qualification from the RCS (Edinburgh) and is listed on the Dental Council Register of Specialist Orthodontists. He actively keeps himself informed of the latest developments in orthodontics and holds a part time teaching position in the Dublin Dental Hospital.

Jennifer started her career as a dental nurse before qualifying as a dental hygienist in 1993 and joined the practice in 2000.

Aoibheann graduated from Trinity College in 2012 as a dental hygienist. She previously practised in Carlow and six years in Waterford before returning to her native county joining  Dental Care Ireland in April 2021.  

Aoibheann is very welcoming and passionate in promoting oral health.  She tailors a plan to suit the individual taking into consideration age, ability and lifestyle.  She is very caring in her approach and even the most nervous of patients have succumbed to her gentle manner.

Aoibheann completed the Specialist Certificate course in Oral Health Promotion in NUI Galway focusing on those with an intellectual disability. She regularly participates in webinars and conferences as part of her continuing professional development. She is a member of the Dental Council of Ireland and the Irish Dental Hygienists Association.

Aoibheann gets great satisfaction in seeing improvements in her patients oral health giving them confidence. She believes as the song goes, “You’re never fully dressed without a smile”.

Majella Bowden graduated from WIT with a bachelors degree in hospitality management in 2017. Majella started working in Dental Care Ireland in 2018 as a receptionist in Callan Dental. Majella was delighted to take the practice manager position in Carlow in September 2022. Outside of work, Majella loves baking, reading and her dogs.
