She is also fully trained in Facial Aesthetics. Dr Collins earned her Dentistry qualification from the University of Wales, College of Medicine in 2004. Following this, she spent two years in Maxillofacial surgery in Brighton and Eastbourne.<\/p>\n<p>In 2008, Dr Collins gained her membership into the RCSI Ireland, furthering her credentials within the field. Her commitment to professional development led her to obtain a certificate in Facial Aesthetics in 2011. He studied Medicine at Trinity College Dublin obtaining his degree in 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Chris Ford has extensive experience in all aspects of general dentistry and has a postgraduate qualification in Dental sedation and pain management. In Australia he taught final year dental students from the University of Queensland and worked in a clinic treating patients with special needs. Lilia is pleased to be able to provide high-quality routine and complex root canal treatments and retreatments for patients and is happy to discuss cases with referring practitioners. She is passionate about the importance of securing the best outcomes for patients when undergoing root canal treatments and performs treatments exclusively with the use of a dental operating microscope. He qualified from University College Cork and undertook postgraduate training in Oral Surgery and Periodontology in the UK before completing his Masters Programme in Restorative Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Institute in London.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He strongly believes that oral and dental health is best protected over a lifetime by implementing effective disease prevention and minimising dental interventions to those that best safeguard the structure and viability of teeth over the long term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr Ray McCarthy has particular clinical interests in the management of worn\/eroded teeth and in the restoration of vulnerable tooth structure with bonded restorations. After a few years working as a general dentist in Dortmund, Germany he commenced on a one year training program in periodontal prosthetic rehabilitation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"_04xlpA direction-ltr align-justify para-style-body\"><span class=\"WdYUQQ text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">Once completed he returned home to Galway &amp; continued to work as a general dentist with a special interest in dental implants &amp; prosthetic rehabilitation of periodontal patients.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"_04xlpA direction-ltr align-justify para-style-body\"><span class=\"WdYUQQ text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">In 2004, he made the decision to embark on a three-year full-time European Federation of Periodontology recognised postgraduate program at Trinity College. Since qualifying as a Periodontist he been working with patients that suffer with periodontal disease providing advanced care including non-surgical &amp; surgical treatments.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"_04xlpA direction-ltr align-justify para-style-body\"><span class=\"WdYUQQ text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">He is an implant surgeon of 20 years\u2019 experience. He has experience with multiple different implant systems both at a surgical &amp; prosthetic level.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"_04xlpA direction-ltr align-justify para-style-body\"><span class=\"WdYUQQ text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">Maher has trained extensively in various techniques of bone reconstruction. These include techniques such as simple guided bone regeneration using bone substitutes, as well as more complex Khoury split block bone grafts (patient\u2019s own bone). The newest technique he applies is named Kieler Sushi which uses specific growth factors derived from the patient\u2019s blood samples in conjunction with both bone substitutes &amp; patient\u2019s own bone. He recognised early that multiple techniques were required to ensure adequate reconstruction of bone given the multitude of problems that exist. He is part of an international continuing education group for the advancement of bone grafting. This group meets weekly to discuss case reports &amp; exchange experiences in very complex reconstruction of bone defects in the field of dental implantology.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"_04xlpA direction-ltr align-justify para-style-body\"><span class=\"WdYUQQ text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">Maher has advanced training in soft tissue procedures to ensure improvement of quality and quantity of gum tissue. These include free gingival &amp; free connective tissue as well as pedicled connective tissue graft which are often required to rebuild tissues lost especially in conjunction with dental implant procedures.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"_04xlpA direction-ltr align-justify para-style-body\"><span class=\"WdYUQQ text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">Maher is committed to ongoing postgraduate education &amp; is currently completing a Certificate in management of Cranio-Mandibular disorders. This specific technique, developed by Dr Paul Ridder in Freiburg Germany, allows for management of dental occlusal problems which often extend beyond just the oral environment. During his undergraduate education he was an entrance exhibitioner and was awarded the Trinity non-foundation scholarship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After graduation Dr. Fitzgerald spent several years in general dental practice, treating a broad range of general dental problems. He returned to the Dublin Dental School and Hospital as a Senior House Officer in 2004. In 2005 he was awarded the membership of the Faculty of Dentistry in the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland. In 2005 he was accepted into the postgraduate full-time prosthodontics programme in Trinity College Dublin, from which he graduated with first class honours in 2008.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Fitzgerald\u2019s doctoral research was on the accuracy of guided dental implant placement, and has been published in the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/20862415\">&nbsp;International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants<\/a>.
